O tensiune eternă: individ vs. mulțime

Hărmălaia campaniilor electorale ne fură atât de tare, încât nu realizăm momentul când din individualitate împovărată de spaime am devenit parte a unei mulțimi eliberate prin iluzii.

Câteva momente de liniște și meditație ne pot ajuta să înțelegem de ce și cum devenim gloată și de ce, odată ajunși în acel punct, ne este teamă să redevenim noi înșine.

Elias Canetti: “…distinctions are thrown off and all become equal. It is for the sake of this blessed moment, when no one is greater than another, that people become a crowd.”/…/”The most important occurrence within the crowd is the discharge. Before this the crowd does not actually exist; it is the discharge which creates it.
